Join a Windworks Flotilla: Your Ultimate Group Sailing Adventure

There is nothing quite like the sight of a dozen sails on the horizon, all heading toward the same sunset. Windworks Flotillas are more than just sailing trips; they are a community experience where adventure meets camaraderie. Whether you are looking to build your confidence as a sailor or simply want to relax while an experienced skipper handles the helm, our flotillas offer the perfect balance of excitement and peace of mind.

Why Join a Flotilla?

  • Safety in Numbers: Every boat is assigned an experienced club skipper. Having a fleet nearby and professional guidance at hand means you can push your boundaries safely.
  • Expert Local Knowledge: Our itineraries are designed to showcase the "hidden gems" of the Pacific Northwest—from the secret coves of the San Juan Islands to the underrated beauty of South Puget Sound.
  • Community & Connection: Sailing can be a solitary sport, but flotillas turn it into a social event. Share a meal at anchor, swap stories of the day's passage, and make lifelong friends with fellow members.
  • Skill Building: For those learning the ropes, a flotilla is the best "classroom" there is. You’ll gain experience with real-world tides, currents, and navigation in a supportive environment.

Flotilla Options

Spring Tides - May

A four-day odyssey that ventures to the San Juan Islands during late April or early May when the Earth, Moon and Sun are aligned. This combined gravitational pull of the Sun and the Moon creates the greatest difference between high and low tides. The name refers to the concept of the water “springing forth.”

Mother Nature's forces creates the backdrop for one of the best flotilla events of the year! The Spring Tides flotilla is a four-day sojourn to all points north, deep into the San Juans and pokes our bowsprits to the edge of our northern border. The trip is different every year and is our biggest group adventure. Every boat is assigned an experienced club skipper that pays special attention to safety and to exploring the enchanting islands of the San Juans.

Midsummer Madness - July

One or two-night mini trips to closer destinations such as Winslow, Langely, Poulsbo, Blake Island, Gig Harbor, Kingston, Port Ludlow and Everett. These events usually include a theme and are a great way to explore what’s in your own backyard while gaining experience and confidence cruising with others.

Southern Crossing - September

A four-day journey that explores the islands, coves and inlets of South Puget Sound that takes place in mid-September. Recent trips have included circumnavigation of Vashon Island and port visits to Bremerton or exciting trips under the Tacoma Narrows Bridge and finding quiet anchorages in Case Inlet or near Raft Island. The South Puget Sound is some of the most underrated cruising grounds in the region.
