The WOW group at Windworks is an extension of "Windshare", designed by women club members for other women club members.

An email was started with an idea for an overnight trip....many women responded, we booked a boat and went on an overnight adventure. One of the subjects that came up was how many women felt that they took a more passive role on the boat while with male crew. So we decided to correct this by coming up with a women's only club where we could work on basic boat handling skills while making friends in a women's only atmosphere. The main idea was to build confidence and expand skills so that when sailing with others we would be able to take a more active and productive role in boating.

Dana Yaffee reports about the March WOW overnight trip: I learned so much from everyone, especially Mariah, that I can't wait to skipper another overnighter. The women on both boats were great fun, I will not hesitate to sail year round, anymore............
