| Introduction to Sailing |
   OK, so you are ready to give sailing a try. You think you are going to love it, but don’t know how to test the waters. Is there a way to get some experimental sailing time without the need to commit to a sailing club or learn to sail program? Is there a way to check out a learn to sail program without a large commitment? The answer is YES! We understand what it is like to be a beginner, including those who are enamored with the idea of sailing but have never set foot upon a sailboat before. Therefore we offer two ways to get a taste of sailing to see if you want more. The two entrees are our INTRO to SAILING outings and our BASIC KEELBOAT crew level course. The INTRO to SAILING is exactly that, a two-hour sail out in the Sound on a larger cruising sailboat with one of our instructors. Kick back and experience the feeling, ask questions, take a turn at the wheel if you like. This experience can help you determine if sailing is for you. It will also give you a glimpse into WINDWORK’S sailing staff and sailboat fleet. The BASIC KEELBOAT crew level course is another great way to sample sailing. This 8 hour course is actually the first session of our 24-hour Basic Keelboat class. In the 8 hour crew level course, you will spend most of the day sailing and learning basic sailing techniques. The crew level is at a special reduced price for all who want to check it out, with no membership required. This course is a great way to check out sailing, our club, and boats. If you like what you are doing after the first session, and have decided that you like sailing and want to continue, you are already on your way to completion of full Basic Keelboat level and day sailing on your own!
